Prevention and Management of Falls Policy

South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is committed to providing a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff and visitors. The aim of this Policy is to provide practical guidance to managers and staff providing care for people who may be at risk of falling, in order to minimise the risk of harm and maintain safety. The Policy aims to support the falls prevention and management needs of people with protected characteristics.


The Policy outlines the Key Performance Indicators the Trust is required to evidence, actions to identify and minimise the risks of falls and describes actions that must be taken in exercising this responsibility.


The Policy covers all service delivery across the Trust.
