Its Eating Disorders Awareness week this week and staff from South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s inpatient eating disorder ward at St George’s Hospital in Stafford will be wearing silly socks to mark their support.
The campaign is organised by the eating disorders charity, BEAT, and aims to raise money, and awareness around eating disorders.
The Trust’s Wellbeing and Recovery College is also offering a one day course ‘Understanding Eating Disorders’ which is free, and open to all. The course, which will be held on Thursday 15 March from 1-4pm in Lichfield, may be particularly relevant to someone with a diagnosis of an eating disorder, their family and friends, or anyone who wants to learn more about eating disorders.
As with all the Wellbeing and Recovery College courses, it will be run by someone with lived experience alongside a health professional.
